The last time alot of us (and by us, I mean you, because I look in my closet everyday and see them) saw the black and cement Jordan 3's was in the summer of 2001, on the footlocker shelves. Sure, there's been many of fakes being worn, but for the first time in along time, we will see the rise of the legendary colorway once again. Set to release in a countdown pack paired with the Jordan XX (who cares?), most people will likely be paying the $400 solely for this shoe alone. Better line up from now, cause it likely won't be another 10 years before you see it again.

Saw this the other day and thought it was kind of interesting. While it may not actually be eco-friendly, it sure appears that way. It's a heat pressed bag designed by Gregor Timlim, and it basically a sheet that folds into a messenger bag, resembling those old styled paper bags you used for your lunch, but bigger. They are capable of holding a substantial amount of items and is a change from what you see everyday. It's a different take on the shape of a messenger bag, but proves to be quite stylish in itself.

At first glance, the above pic looks like a pen or flashlight on steroids, but it's much more then just that. They're actually dumbbells, for those who weight train. Created by designer Sang-Hoon Lee, these dumbbells allow you to change the weight digitally, to your own preference.

What happens is, the bars let you increase or decrease the weight of the dumbbell by simply rotating a dial and punching a few buttons. The dumbbells themselves have tiny balls inside that spin to generate weight, and the faster they spin, the more weight is generated which of course, basically means that you will no longer have to change or add plates to your dumbbells when you work out. Pretty unbelievable!

The SurfChair conceptual design by Kenneth Lylover, was a part of the ‘Internet Collection’ at the Scandinavian Furniture Fair and even won the ‘Best Product’ award. It's definately a winner and would make the obesity rate triple if it goes into production. Though I must admit it's looking awfully comfortable and would make surfing the net a more relaxing experience.

Legendary designer Yves Saint Laurent passed away today at 71.

The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco have designed and developed, in partnership with the Fondation Pierre Bergé – Yves Saint Laurent, the first retrospective spanning the forty years of creation of the Maison de haute couture Yves Saint Laurent. Presented from May 29 to September 28, 2008, the exhibition Yves Saint Laurent focusses on this virtuoso of haute couture, whose unique style blends references to the world of art with allusions to pop culture and social revolution. Structured around four themes, the exhibition develops the revolutionary nature of a body of work that has marked both the past and the present with a new definition of femininity and left a signature that transcends fashion. The display will include 145 accessorized creations belonging to the Fondation Pierre Bergé – Yves Saint Laurent, as well as drawings and videos.

"I'D RATHER BE DEAD!!" - HIGHSTRUNG, 1991

If you know me, you'd know I praise this one movie, Highstrung, which was never a widely known movie, and incredibly difficult to locate and get a copy. I had one, but somehow lost it lending it to a friend. Anyway, its basically about a man, Thane Furrows, who is in his apartment all day complaining about life. It's humorous as the main character is played by Steve Odekerk, who is a comedian, actor and writer, for movies such as The Nutty Professor, Ace Ventura, and Bruce Almighty. Anyways, its an extremely funny film for the time period it was in, and though not many people I know that have seen it have given it good ratings, they just probably don't have a sense of humor.

And although i've seen a couple interesting USB design concepts, more recently, a wooden laundry clip (interestingly enough, still fully functional as one...would be a pain to misplace don't you think?). This concept comes in form of a 4 gb mass media storage, designed to look and feel as a rock. Yes a rock. Just make sure you don't keep this thing lying around, in case someone decides to try break a window with it?

The picture above might recall some memories in....2003; when gas prices kinda averaged that...

If you drive, you already know the pain and suffering the increased gas prices are causing everyone. Right now the price is sitting on average about $1.18/litre and fluctuating around ±$0.02 cents every day. It's estimated at the current pace, it will reach $1.50 by the summer.

However, if you were one of the luckier people who got up early and watch breakfast television, you would have known that they sponsored an event at Canadian Tire in Mississauga, at the corner of Mavis and Britannia, where for a few hours until 9am, they were selling gas for half price. Yes, the lucky ones who got to fill up at $0.68/litre were probably filled with joy, as the wait time was probably close to an hour.

Traffic was madness, and backed up anywhere within a 4 km radius of the area.

AMERICA'S BEST DANCE CREW

This is a fairly new show brought to you by Randy Jackson, better known as one of the judges on American Idol. Basically it's another one of those vote for your favorite dance group type of show, but it's actually entertaining because they dance to hip hop, so it filters out all the other styles of dance.

I've never been much of a fan of these competition shows, but this one is addictive, because every week allows the crews to choreograph their own steps, based on different challenges, so it gets pretty interesting. So far it's only 3 episodes in, and there's alot of talent. I got my picks of who's gonna win already, let's ride it out...haha.

One of my favorite groups on the show, and my number one pick is Jabbawockeez. Check out some of the clips of the first, second and third episodes...and you be the judge.

Man. I wish I could've seen into the future. But I realize now that the past is what's constantly the basis of the present. Not so much retro, but anything pre-00's has become standard in our lifestyles again. It's kind of like a never ending recycling of fashion, which is great when you own vintage pieces, as well as great on your pocket.

Check out this new offering from BBC, which I also notice is making a comeback in your everyday shopping mall stores as well.

Once in a while, I gotta take a step back and try and push those who deserve the push. Right now, one of the biggest stars in T.O.'s music scene would have to be Luu Breeze. I mean, I don't have professional judgement when it comes to music, but I know what I hear. I'm not sure i've ever heard a lame, half-assed track come from this guy, he bang's out hits. And to me, if that's any indication of what the future has in store for him, then it's looking good. This is too funny... Being in Canada, the whole presidency issue doesn't mean much, so we sit back and watch as the media have a field day with the hopefuls. And because their different, I suppose the parodies will never be too far.
